Career Exploration Activities
To facilitate a smooth transition to the workforce and to help young adults in maintaining positive behaviors, we offer Career Exploration services such as career workshops, entrepreneurship projects; job readiness training, internships and college enrollment support (i.e. SAT workshops, scholarship information). Upon program completion, the program coordinator and social worker maintain close contact with youth and parents to inquire about their state and to provide additional support services. Other benefits: Access to job placement for two months with the public and private sectors. The program is available only during the summer months (July and August)
Eligibility:
- Must be 14 years old to 18 years old to participate.
- Must be low to moderate income (parents)
- At risk youth
- Must be in school (High School)
- Must be a resident of Union County
Application process start in late May. Space is limited first come first serve. For eligibility contact the Program Coordinator at aeliejpm@optonline.net or funding for this program has been made possible by a grant received from the Union County Workforce Development Board “Youth Department”.
